CLAY GUILD OF THE CASCADES
GENERAL MEETING - May 7, 2007
Brooks Resource Room - Deschutes Public Library

Call to Order at 6:35 p.m.
Introductions of members, 47 paid members thus far this year.

Attendance
 Jolene Cap, Linda Heisserman, Cheri Harris, Diana Popp, Alyssa Reischauer, Barbara Braussard, Gordon Braussard, David Warren, Anne Rustand, Eleanor Murphy, and Corinne Vetger.

Treasurer’s Report
Report sent in by Deb Sether, $1054.70 total in our account, about $200 is delegated to Wildfire for show.

Committee Reports
Empty Bowls- report was a brief overview and update by Jolene and then Corinne arrived to add dates of Throw-a-thon being on the first Friday of July and August, then trimming on the next day.  Volunteers are needed for both throwing and trimming.  Clay has been ordered for the event and more info about event is on the website.
           
Wildfire- Steve Provence was not present to do update, so Linda gave brief overview.  Applications for show are to be uploaded on website for people to download and send in.  There is still room available for helping out in the planning stages and volunteers are needed.

Workshops- Linda Heisserman reported that she is looking for a sculpture artist to come in for a workshop, some ideas include contacting Ron Lynn, the Andersons or Barb Campbell.

Old Business
-Meeting notice was sent out earlier as requested and the response was positive.
-Revised non-profit PW has been received and in the process.

New Business
-Cone Box Show at the Library- Linda explained the show and showed an actual cone box, which all entries must fit inside.  The show will run somewhere between Oct through Dec and everyone agreed that it would be great publicity for the Clay Guild of the Cascades.  Members felt that each potter should plan on bringing in 1-2 entries per person in order to fill the show.

Video- “Color and Fire” was shown.

Upcoming meeting-
Instead of a July General Meeting, please plan to attend the Empty Bowls Throw-a-thon July 6th to throw and July 7th to trim.  The following general meeting will be held at Linda’s house to see her studio.
