General Meeting Minutes
September 10, 2007
Call to order at 6:40pm
Introduction of members:
Jolene Cap, Linda Heisserman, Deb Sether, David Warren, Diana Popp, Steve Provence, Norman Frater, Alyssa Reischauer, Cheri Harris and Helen Bommarito.
Attendance: All members listed above and John Burns.
Minutes of last meeting: Minutes were accepted without being read
Treasurer’s Report:
Deb Sether reported a balance of $3,044.06 including Wildfire funds. As of now, over $2,000 is Wildfire specific.
Committee Reports:
Empty Bowls: A big Thank you to Corinne for chairing the event, so much work it’s unbelievable. Also, thank you to all who participated throwing and trimming in July and August. We are still accepting bowls made by individuals and will be possibly having another glaze party. Future details of Empty Bowls are up in the air, members agreed to research different ways on how to work out gliches of the event and new solutions to current problems.
Wildfire: Steve Provence reported that the meetings for the show are coming along well. There is great publicity in the works, info packets are soon to be mailed out and postcards/posters are on their way. Participating artist need to put in their booth requests to Diana Popp.
Workshops: Linda Heisserman reported more details on the Cone Box show. Several members brought their pieces to the meeting for Linda to take to the show. The show starts Oct. 1 and runs through the end of December, located on the second floor of the library. Linda also reported on the progress of the Barb Campbell and Javier Cervantes workshop. The spots are slowly filling up, the date is set for Oct. 5-7th at COCC.
Old business:
-Revised non-profit paper work has been received and a final ruling has not been made yet, but it doesn’t look good. Linda will continue to look into the progress. A motion was made to pay the $500 bill already incurred while trying to get non-profit status. Members voted and agreed that bill was to be paid.
New business:
-Art in the High Desert is a new art show that is being put together by two board members from Art in the Pearl. Booth fees are about $450 with a tentative date of August 2008 either the weekend before or after Art in the Pearl.
Upcoming meeting:
Next General Meeting is scheduled for Nov. 12 at Deb Sether’s house in Sisters.
