Committee Reports

Empty Bowls:

Jolene attended the Empty Bowls event this year and reported that CGC was the "title sponsor" of Empty Bowls this year. CGC received a plaque of thanks.

A letter was sent to NeighborImpact letting them know that we won’t be assuming the role of coordinators in 2008. Holly Hutton said she understood and appreciate our work. Special thanks goes to Corinne Vegter as the Chair of Empty Bowls in 2007 and all potters who donated bowls and participated in the Throw-a-Thon.

Wildfire

Report from Steve about the success of Wildfire in 2007. The $$ totals were way up from 2006 and the numbers of folks coming to the event was a little down. Steve felt the advertising really helped the show this year.

Workshop Report

The "cone box" show is up in the Bend Library.

We had two workshops this year. Te Duong,, a potter from Eugene, was in the winter. Barb Campbell and Javier Cervantes from Corvallis and Mexico, were in Oct.

It was suggested that CGC coordinate with OPA and Local Clay to bring artists to the Oregon area together.

Old Business

Revised non-profit letter has been recieved and a filanl rulling has not been made yet.

Linda composed a letter to answer the questions asked and sent the Bulletin’s article on Wildfire, pictures of the student show and a copy of the Broadside article on Barb’s and Javier’s workshop to show the IRS what CGC is all about.

New Business

Jolene reported that The City of Bend requires businesses, for profit and non-profit to have a business license. As a non-profit, it is just a registration with no fee. As a profit business, there is a $50.00 fee. Jolene has not registered us yet, hoping that our non-profit status comes through.
